Serve our church

The Wednesday Work Crew

This faithful crew has been serving our church since the early 1990s. They meet every Wednesday at 7am in Hargrove Hall for fellowship, prayer, coffee, and donuts before beginning the work to maintain our buildings and grounds. If you would like to join this group, contact the church office or Rod Alleman.

As a downtown church, we often come in contact with people experiencing homelessness in Irving. While we cannot always help them with all of their needs, we can offer a sack lunch if they are hungry. If you would like to make sandwiches, donate non-perishable food items, or help pass out lunches in the office, please contact the church office to see how you can be involved in this vital ministry.

Sack Lunch Ministry

Our church staff is always in need of extra hands in the office to help with answering phones, greeting visitors, preparing bulletins, and much more. The hours are flexible. Please contact the church office if you would like to give your time to our church staff!

Office Volunteers

Do you like to cook or help serve a meal? Each Wednesday from September – May, one of our cooking teams gathers to prepare a delicious meal to be served that evening. We make great meals and have fun doing it. We would love for you to join one of our teams! Contact Cindy Alleman or George Adamson for more information.

Oasis Meal

First Irving has a thriving children’s ministries program which requires many volunteers over the course of the year. Some of the ongoing volunteer opportunities include Sunday School teachers, Sunday School helpers, monthly activities, and Vacation Bible School. Serve our World

Missionaries from our church have been traveling annually to Guatemala since 2016. Our mission teams serve the people in Santa Maria De Jesus by hosting VBS and completing projects, such as building at Monte de los Olivos Church and painting at the Nueva Vida School.
